Institute for Applied AI

Today my alma-mater UMASS Boston announced the creation of the Institute of Applied AI, with initial funding by me.

It is my strong belief that the jobs of the future will come from people with knowledge of "applied" AI, leveraging and building new tools on top of evolving AI platforms.

We intend to have these AI classes go across the entire campus, so everyone from teachers, nurses, scientists, environmentalists and public policy students will get specific training of how AI can be used for their major and their careers.

I made this gift to UMASS Boston since it is the most diverse university in New England and is located in Dorchester Mass.

I think expertise in applied AI can be an equalizer and provide real economic opportunity to any student regardless of background.
